How it begins
The Golden Bird.
A king once had a beautiful garden, and in the garden stood a tree that grew golden apples. The apples were counted every day. But just as they began to ripen, the king found that one apple went missing every single night. The king was very angry. He ordered his gardener to keep watch under the tree all night long.
